“Elisabed Zaldastanishvili is a young researcher of the G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology, who was selected among 119 applicants for a three-month research visit at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the Technical University of Delft (Netherlands) within the framework of the “Georgian Researcher Mobility Support” program funded by the European Union.
Elisabed’s research is related to the creation of viruses (bacteriophages) of bacteria with the ability to overcome antiphage resistance, which is very important for the development of phage therapy as an alternative to antimicrobial treatment.”
