On October 3rd, scientists of the Eliava Institute Dr. Mzia Kutateladze and Dr. Nina Chanishvili participated in the event organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Environmental Information and Education Center of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, and the Association of General and Applied Microbiology of Georgia. The event dedicated to the International Day of Science and Innovation held at Tbilisi State University. At the event, David Prangishvili, honorary professor of the Paris Pasteur Institute, gave a public lecture on the topic – “Bacteriophages: The guarantor of a healthy ecosystem”. The scientists of the Eliava Institute participated in a panel discussion, in which they presented the achievements of the Eliava Institute in the study and application of phages, information about scientific projects ongoing at the institute, as well as the possibilities and perspectives of the practical use of bacteriophages.
