Visit of a high-level delegation from the US Centers for Disease Control (US CDC)
The high-level delegation from the US Centers for Disease Control (US CDC) have visited the George Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology, and Virology. The delegation was led by Charles Vitek, MD, MPH, the Regional Director for the CDC Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office located in Tbilisi, Georgia. During the visit, the information on the Eliava Institute’s experience and activities was presented to the visitors. Opportunities for scientific cooperation between the Eliava Institute and the US Centers for Disease Control were also identified during the ongoing discussions. In the second part of the meeting, the guests visited the Institute’s Museum and Library, also Eliava International Phage therapy Center and the Eliava Authorized Pharmacy.
